Information for non-registered users
1. What is now-in.org?
www.now-in.org is the new Web 2.0 platform for events, locations/venues and performers. It’s where you’ll find all your favourite events, locations and performers.
2. What are the benefits of registering with now-in.org?
Once you have registered, you can submit and post your own events and locations. It’s done in just a few simple steps. You can also register yourself as a performer if you’re not in our database yet. You can also choose to use our great agent service. Just let us know what your interests are – the kind of music you like, for instance, or your hometown, or a specific venue, and we’ll send you email updates as soon as something new comes in. You’ll be kept up to date without having to spend a lot of time searching.
3. Does it cost anything to register or to enter events and locations, or does it cost anything to use the agent service?
No. It costs absolutely nothing to use now-in.org. You can discontinue your registration at any time – just let our support staff know that you wish cancel. Please use the contact form found on our site or send an email to support@now-in.org.
4. How do I register?
Registration is a matter of just a few clicks!. Once you’ve entered your information you’ll receive a confirmation mail containing an activation link. If the email is not in your inbox, check in your junk mail or spam folder – your filter might not recognize us. Once you have clicked the activation link, you’re ready to start creating your profile.
5. Will my personal data be disclosed to a third party?
Your data is strictly confidential and will not be shared with a third party.
6. What are keywords/tags?
Keywords/tags are words assigned to certain locations/venues, events and performers so that they can be found quickly and easily in subsequent searches. Here’s an example: If you want to enter an event with Amy Winehouse in London at Club 123 into the system, you could use the following search terms: Amy Winehouse Electro House London Club 123.
Questions about my account
1. How can I edit my profile?
Once you are registered, click on My profile. You can edit your profile as often as you like.
2. How do I upload a picture for my profile?
To upload a picture of yourself, first click on your Personal startpage and then on My profile.
3. Can I change my user name after I have registered?
No. It is not possible to change your user name once your account has been created.
4. Where can I change my password or email address?
To change either your password or email address, just click on your Personal startpage and then on My profile.
5. Will other users be able to see my real name or my address?
If you use your real name in your profile, then yes, others will be able to see it. We need your address in order to find events in your area. Users will only be able to see the city you are located in.
6. How can I send a message?
Your Personal startpage shows a list of your friends. You can send a message to another user by clicking on the Send an email button. You can also write an email to another user from his/her page – just use the Email to... button.
7. How can I receive messages?
Any messages sent to you by your friends or other users are forwarded to the email address provided in your account.
Questions about the search feature
1. How do I find events?
There are many ways to find events. You can enter a specific term in the search window in the upper right hand corner or you can go to the Events page and search by city, date and location using the detail search feature. You can also filter your event search by clicking on one of the keywords listed on the right. Click here to go to the Events page.
2. How do I find other users?
You must have a registered account with now-in.org in order to view other users. You can search for other users by city using the main search function or by clicking on the city list at the top of the User page. If you know who you are looking for, you can search directly by first or last name using the user search function in the upper right corner. If you have flagged certain events, you will also be able to see who else is planning to go to the event. Click here to go to Users.
3. How do I find locations?
You can find locations through a general search, but you can also go to the Locations page and click on the first letter of the location you are looking for or by clicking on one of the keywords in the keyword list on the right. Click here to go to Locations.
4. How do I adjust the settings of the search agent?
Go to your Personal startpage and click on My agent to edit your search agent settings. You can enter and change keywords, sign up for email notifications, add locations, etc… If you want to be kept up to date about events held at a particular location, just click on Track through agent.
Questions about users
1. How can I add someone to my friends list?
If you’d like to add someone to your friends list, just click on the Add to friends list icon next to his/her ID Card. The user ID cards are shown on the Users page.
2. Where can I view/make changes to my friends?
You’ll find a list of your friends on your ID card under your Personal startpage. From there you can send them email, invite them to groups or delete them from your list of friends.Go to My friends.
3. Where can I invite more people to my events?
It is easy to invite friends who are not yet members of now-in.org; once you’ve found an event or location you’d like to share with friends, just click on Send event or Send location on the right.
4. Some users have special icons. What do they mean?
now-in.org has so-called “Super Users” and “Admins”. They help manage content, correct errors and are very valuable behind-the-scenes helpers at now-in.org.
We invite all users who really enjoy now-in.org and want to help us grow to send us an Email. Who knows … maybe you’ll become our next Super User!
Questions about locations
1. What is a location
Locations are the cities or venues where events are held. Locations are also places that are simply too cool to go without mention! Click here to go to Locations.
2. How do I find a location?
You can either search for locations using the site’s search function or find them by clicking on the first letter of the location’s name. Click here to go to Locations.
3. How can I add a location?
You can add a location by clicking on Add location on the Location page. Just fill out the form and click on the Add button. If the location already exists, and you have a connection to the location, e.g. owner or manager, send us an email at support@now-in.org. or fill out the contact form and send it our way. In your email, please include your now-in.org user name, your Email address, the number at which we can reach you and your association with the location. We’ll check it out and then link your now-in.org account with the location or performer data record. Once this is done, you can edit and manage the information yourself.
Questions about events
1. What is an event?
now-in.org covers most every kind of event out there. Concerts, plays, book readings, art exhibits, nightclubs, comedy acts and much much more — you'll always find something out there. Events are always linked to a location. The various groups on the site also discuss the different events. Click here to go to Events.
2. How do I find an event?

4. Where and how do I indicate that I want to go to the event?
Just click on the My events button on the event’s detail page. The event will be saved to your profile. Other users will be able to see that you are planning to attend the event and you’ll see who else will be there as well. You can view the list of all the events you have saved by clicking on the “I’m going to…” link on the Events page.
5. How can I make changes to my events?
Click the My events navigation point on the Events page. This will display a list of all the events you’ve entered that can be modified.
Questions about performers
1. What are performers?
In the context of now-in.org, performers include everything and everyone from singers, group or band members, visual artists, writers, comedians, entertainers and sculptors. Click here to go to Performers.
2. How do I find a particular performer?
There are many ways to find performers. Every event may have a performer. You can search for performers in the general search or perform a more detailed search (by name or genre, for instance) on the “Performer” page. You can also filter your performer search by clicking on one of the keywords listed on the right. Click here to go to Performers.
3. Where can I add performers to now-in.org?
Add performers by clicking Add performer on the Performer page. Just fill out the form and click on the Add button.

4. I am a performer and there is already an entry under my name.
In this case, someone else has already entered you as a performer. Let us know by using the contact form found on our site or send us an email at “support@now-in.org” and we will re-assign the entry to your account. In your mail, please include your now-in.org user name, your Email address and the number where you can be reached. We’ll check it out and then link your now-in.org account with the data record. Once this is done, you can edit and manage the information yourself.
5. How can I make changes to performer entries?
Click My performers on the Performers page. This will display a list of all the performers you’ve entered that can be edited.
Groups
1. What are groups?
Groups are discussion forums on any number of topics. Users can create their own groups and determine who gets to join … and who not. This allows people who share the same interests to connect and share information regarding events, performers or locations. All members of a group can see which events, locations etc. have been added to the group by its members. Click here to go to Groups.
2. How do I find a group?
You’ll find a complete list of all the groups under Groups. You can filter your search by clicking on a keyword listed on the right or by clicking on the first initial. If you cannot find the group you are looking for, start your own! And invite others to join your group. Click here to go to Groups.
3. How can I join a group?
Just click on the Join button if you’ve found a group you’d like to be a part of. The group administrator, i.e. the person who created the group, then decides whether you are added to the group ... or not.
4. Can I create my own groups?
Yes. Click Add group on the Groups page.
General tips
1. Event tip
Be as specific as you can and give your event a vivid name, e.g. Shakira concert in Cologne. The more vivid the title, the more attractive your event. Use keywords and additional information to make it easier for users to find your event.
2. Performer tip
Enter the performer’s name here.
Tip: Many of today’s performers have already been added to the database. Select the performer from the drop down list of suggestions.
Tip: Use a semi-colon to separate names when listing more than one performer.
3. Location tip
This is where you can enter the name and address of a specific location where events are held. Feel free to add an image or additional information about the event.
Tip: Many locations have already been added to the database. Select the location from the drop down list of suggestions.
4. Group tip
Create a new group here. Just enter the name of your group. Feel free to add an image or additional information about the group.
5. My profile tip
This is where you can add, edit and change your contact information, personal motto and hobbies. Including a saying or a list of interest can help others get to know you better. Other users will not be able to see your telephone number or your address.
Tip: Enter your first and last name if you want users to be able to find you over the site’s User search.
6. My agent tip
If you are a registered user, this is where you tell us what kind of events you’d like us to notify you about. We’ll send you a mail on a regular basis – you can even tell us what day of the week you’d like to receive the mail. This feature can help optimize your weekend planning! The Email is sent out early in the morning.
You also have the option of tracking certain performers, locations, groups or cities. You’ll never miss a thing with this feature!
